Welcome To The ThermoElectric Vehicle Project Wiki!

What is the TEV Project?

  1. Research and development of a small model car powered by the Seebeck Effect.
  2. Generation of electricity using a thermoelectric generator powered by the heat from an exothermic chemical reaction.
  3. Small team inquiry conducted over several months by students at Lee-Davis High School in Mechanicsville, VA.
  4. Project Based Learning tool for teaching chemistry SOLs through an authentic engineering situation requiring 21st Century skills.

The purposes of the Wiki are:

  1. Serve as a record (online lab notebook) of student research on the TEV project.
  2. Communicate information to the community (classmates, schoolmates, county, state and the world).
  3. Provide a resource for other researchers seeking information on the use of thermoelectric generators to power vehicles.
